This is likely to be a rehearsal for the Euro 2012 for Spain, as they would be heading into the major European championships as one of the favourites to lift the trophy.

KFA chief Cho Chung-Yun head managed to come to an agreement with the Spanish counterpart Angel Maria Villar during a recent meeting between them in Switzerland. This match will be taking place in Switzerland. Both these teams have already met each other in the buildup to the 2010 FIFA World Cup – a tournament that Spain won. Spain will be looking to defend their Euro 2008 crown this summer, as they will be entering into the Euro 2012 as the firm favourites. Spain won the previous meeting between the two teams 1-0 in Austria.

Coach Choi Kang-Hee has said that this is a very tough match indeed and it will test their players to the core. He also said that there would be a lot of players from Europe, as the domestic league is currently congested and it would cause a lot of fury amongst local clubs if they are to release a player for the friendly match. Arsenal forward Park Chu-Young could be one of the players selected for this friendly, but it is not clear whether the Arsenal forward will be selected due to his strained relationship with the South Korean government.
