IS NEYMAR WORLD’S BEST?

Brazil national team manager Scolari has praised the performance of Santos striker Neymar following the 2-2 draw with Italy in a friendly match. This is the second match in charge for the new manager after taking over from Mano Menezes a few months ago.

However, he is still searching for this first victory in the second spell at the helm of Brazilian football. Scolari’s Brazil managed to take a 2-0 lead in the match despite being outplayed by Italy for most of the encounter. However, Italy hit back in the second half with two goals to level the match.

KOREAN REVAMP

After more than three decades of its start, the Korean football could be set for a major revamp. Even though the league has had success over the years in the form of players – who have went on to represent teams from Germany, France, and England – the match fixing scandals and other problems have become a major issue.

South Korean teams have also been extremely successful when it comes to the Asian version of the Champions league. The teams combined have five titles to their name, while they have also been successful in the domestic competitions as well.

DONG-GOOK LEFT OUT

The South Korean national team manager Choi Kang-hee has decided to leave out the veteran striker Lee Dong-gook out of the scored for the match against Iran. South Korea will be taking on Iran in the final stage of the qualification rounds for the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

Iran is currently ranked 54th in the world and will be offering a strong opposition to the hopes of South Korea qualifying for the World Cup. The 33-year-old Lee Dong-gook has vast experience of playing at international level after he has been part of the national team in the last 15 years.

KOREA FACE SPAIN

The Korean national football team will be getting a lot of experience ahead of their qualification rounds for the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil, as they will be facing the likes of Spain in a friendly match from now till the end of the season.

The Korean football Association recently revealed that the South Korean national football team will be taking on the Spanish in a match between the two teams on May 30. This is likely to be a rehearsal for the Euro 2012 for Spain, as they would be heading into the major European championships as one of the favourites to lift the trophy.
