BIGGEST WIN IN WORLD CUP HISTORY

Football is a game of goals, and the happiest moment for players mad fans is when the ball hits the back of the net. When a goal is scored the team that scored is filled with exhilarating joy while the team that concedes will start to look for ways to reply and get back into the match. For some they find a way back and get a goal of their own, while others surrender, and they continue to concede.


Here we take a look at the biggest wins in world cup history:

Portugal 7: North Korea 0 (2010)

North Korea entered the game at the back of their impressive showing against five times winners of the competitions Brazil. The Selecao won 2-1 and the result was the true reflection of the game, it was close and North Korea were in the game till the very end.

North Korea and South Korea Play out a Goalless Draw

North Korean football team recently took on major rivals South Korea in a World Cup qualifying game. The game was described as ‘waging a war’ by South Korea, who were forced to play the game with a media blackout and behind closed doors. This was a historic match considering that meetings between these two teams are relatively rare.


However, the game finished as a goalless draw and there were spectators in the stadium. After the match, South Koreans said that the playing conditions were extremely tough and the lack of media coverage meant that you were able to get a substantial advantage in terms of physicality, according to Tottenham forward Son Heung-min.

SOUTH KOREA COACH REVEALS DISSAPOINTMENT

South Korea manager Paulo Bento has made it clear that his team performance in Thursday’s World Cup qualifying match against Lebanon was not good enough. The heavily favored Korean side failed to defeat their hosts in what was a 0-0 draw.

There had been concerns ahead of the game after Bento decided to set up training camp in Abu Dhabi instead of Beirut. The team did not arrive Lebanon until the match eve and skipped practice due to the state of the pitch.

North Korea Beat Lebanon 2-0 to Start Qualification Campaign in Style

North Korea were able to overcome Lebanon 2-0 to continue their recent form in recent months. This was the first qualification match for the World Cup 2022. North Korea have been placed in a group containing the likes of Turkmenistan, Lebanon, Sri Lanka, and rivals South Korea. This game was a rematch of the meeting between these two teams back in January. The two teams met each other as part of the Asian Cup 2019. Lebanon were able to come away with a comprehensive 4-1 success back then.

Yun Jong-Su, though, has brought in a lot of new ideas to the team since his appointment in July 2019. The national team has been gaining a lot of momentum since then. The team emerged from the Intercontinental Cup 2019 as the champions. This has played a major role in helping them gain confidence for this match against Lebanon. Since North Korea were also playing at the Kim Il Sung Stadium in Pyongyang in front of their own supporters, there was a lot of incentive to perform well. Jong helped the home team take the lead after just seven minutes. Even though Lebanon tried to push for an equaliser in the second half, it was once again North Korea who found the back of the net.

NORTH LONDON SIDES BATTLE FOR YOUNG FORWARD

Arsenal have reportedly made an offer for Leganes forward Youssef En-Nesyri, according to reports from his native country Morocco. According to media reports, the 22-year-old could be on his way to the Emirates in the summer after Arsenal submitted a formal offer for the player.

En-Nesyri was impressive for Spanish side Leganes this season scoring 11 goals and providing two assists in all competitions. Coach of S. Korea Want ‘balance’ on World Cup U-20 Final Roster

When the coach of South Korea, Chung Jung-Yong announced his final lineup for the U-20 FIFA World Cup this week, the situation will be “balanced”. Since April 22, Chung has been operating a training camp at the Paju National Football Center (NFC), which is present in north Seoul and in Gyeonggi Province. After playing a tune-up game opposite K League club 1, Suwon Samsung Bluewings on Wednesday, here Chung will reveal his 21-man roster on the next day.

The scheduled date of youth tournament is from 23 May to 15 June and it will take place in Poland. South Korea and it has been twinned with Argentina, South Africa, and Portugal in the Group F. In an interview, Chung said that he has the desire to get the right balance within his alignment.

Sunderland Fans Club Starts Promotion in North Korea

Sunderland are one of the first clubs trying to become popular in the secretive country of North Korea. The nation has been kept under wraps for several decades, but one of the few connections that North Korea has with the outside world is through football. The North Korean football team has been able to reach the World Cup on two occasions – 1966 and 2010. Even though they are not regarded in a major fashion when it comes to football, the growing desire to improve the economy has led to North Korea coming up with suggestions of opening up.

Sunderland are not officially promoting themselves in North Korea but a fan club started by Tom Fowdy, who is a Sunderland supporter, has been making inroads in the hermit kingdom.Fowdy is one of the few individuals to have visited North Korea and he claims that the country already has a strong football following, which is visible from the presence of Barcelona and Brazil T-shirts. Sunderland, though, do not have the exotic nature of such teams. Inside, the club has been struggling big-time in the last few years and they are in the League One of English football. Yet, the decision to promote Sunderland in remote parts of the world can have a great implication.

Kim Yong-jun Fails to Inspire North Korea at AFC Asian Cup

North Korea coach Kim Yong-jun was unable to make any impact with the national team, who lost quite badly at the AFC Asian Cup. The team appointed the 35-year-old just before the tournament in the hope of inspiring the players with new ideas, but the actual tournament turned out into a disaster for the national team as they lost all three matches – in huge margins. The group stages started with the 4-0 defeat against a much superior Saudi Arabia team while Qatar were able to thrash North Korea with a 6-0 win.

The heavy loss against Qatar was a major blow to North Korea’s hopes of doing well in the tournament and it was only a matter of pride as the team took on Lebanon in the final group game. Even though North Korea were able to open the scoring after just nine minutes through Pak Kwang-Ryong, the Lebanon team staged a remarkable comeback and they were able to get a 4-1 success with Hilal El-Helwe scoring a brace. Ahead of the game, Kim Yong-jun claimed that he was very confident of getting a positive result in order to keep their slim hopes of qualification alive. However, Lebanon were able to come up with an impressive performance since the game also had a lot at stake for the opposition.

The North Korean Football Team Faces Criticism from the Leader

Last month North Korea football team had to face huge criticism from leader Kim Jong-Un. The team was strictly warned not to lose in upcoming events. It seems like the leader was completely disappointed after being defeated by Saudi Arabia.

The team lost badly in Saudi Arabia. Qatar’s member Almoez Ali stood star of the event. He literally is the one who mainly contributed to Qatar’s win against North Korea. At the beginning, the stadium cheered out loud to North Korea and then the audience was disappointed a bit when Ali hit two goals. But still, the audience didn’t stop supporting. They continued cheering.
